On June 3, the Community Laundry Co-op held its 10th Annual General Meeting at Heartwood House in Ottawa. Incoming Chair of the Board of Directors, Karen Fee, welcomed a group of dedicated members, founders, volunteers and supporters to the event.

The Ottawa Chapter of Voluntary Organizations (OCVO) hosted a gathering in November to bring together people from voluntary organizations to share ideas and strategies for coping with the economic downturn. Approximately 60 people were present, among them representatives from the Laundry Co-op. Participants were asked to share responses to seven questions, reflecting upon the effect of the downturn on our clients and the demand for our services, our response strategy for both the short and long term, and ways to support our services and infrastructures. Heartwood House houses fifteen charitable organizations who come together in the same building to share ideas and resources in order to deliver more efficient and effective services.
Alterna Savings offers a full range of financial products and services, all with a commitment to support the well-being of our members, employees and communities.
Centre 507 is an adult drop-in centre that is open to all who seek a safe place, friendly and supportive environment.
Centretown Community Health Centre has helped ensure all Ottawa residents have access to adequate income, employment, health services, education, food, shelter and transportation.
Somerset West Community Health Centre is a non-profit, community-governed organization that provides primary health care, health promotion and community development services, using interdisciplinary teams of health providers.
United Way, bringing people and resources together to build a strong, healthy, safe community for all. 
Heartwood House collects donations of computer equipment from the community, and RD Long compensates Heartwood for their efforts. Items are inspected for usability, returned to service whenever possible or recycled in an environmentally friendly manner.
